The corrosion resistance is comparable to the standard austenitic grades like 4301 and 4404 respectively or high alloyed ferritics like 4521.

Although it has good high temperature oxidation resistance, ASTM A234 WP11 Alloy Steel Pipe Fittings suffers from embrittlement if held for even short times at temperatures above 300 Degree C. If embrittled, this can only be rectified by a full solution annealing treatments, which are almost never used above 300 Degree C.
